Hi folks - I'm a bit unsure about how I'll manage with the puree stage of the post op diet. Basically, the thought of pureed meat or veg makes me feel ill - it's just the texture of pureed food that I really can't stand.

What I'm wondering is whether the puree stage is a 'must-have' (i.e. I have to go through it to train my tummy back into having normal food) or a 'nice to have' (i.e. something that most people want because they're sick of liquids, but which it wouldn't hurt to skip).

When it comes to the full liquid stage - I'm fine with yoghurt and Soups. If I kept having yoghurt and Soup during my puree stage, would that affect my ability to handle solids when the time comes to move onto them?

I didn't puree a single thing in my "pureed" stage. I was allowed scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, and other soft cheeses during that stage. I continued to have some strained cream Soups. And I lived on Shelly's Ricotta Bake too! Recipe here:

Thanks for that - unfortunately for me it's the entire texture I have an issue with, so scrambled eggs, soft cheese etc aren't to my tastes.

But as long as I can stick with Soup and yoghurt, I'll be fine. Bored. But fine.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
