OK.......so I knew at some point that I would hit a stall......but my question do everyone is........how long was your stall???? I've been stalled now for 3 weeks and it beginning to get a little depressing. I've upped my physical activity. This past week in 6 days, I walked 12 miles. I take Sunday off because I am involved with activities at church. Anxious and curious to hear everyone's response!!!

My first stall was 10-14 long days. It was the 3-week stall. I hope my next stall holds off for quite a while because they are very unpleasant. It can really mess with your head some days if you let it. Just remember that if you stick to the plan, the weight will come off.... eventually.

I lost ZERO pounds for the entire month of October. ZERO! Hope that helps. Best.

What exactly are you defining as a stall? No loss whatsoever or just very slow loss?

My first stall started at start of the 3rd week. I had lost 25lbs before the stall and it lasted 3 1/2weeks. Iam now 12 weeks post op and havent stalled since.

Did u up your calorie intake? You could be in starvation mode

I've had a couple of short ones (3 weeks). My longest was 7 weeks. But it broke like the others. I think getting through that long one really instilled my faith in what I'm doing.

JamieLogical.......no weight loss at all for 3 weeks. I small loss would be so much better than no loss!! @ Pac-woman, yes I did increase my caloric intake by a few hundred calories. Idk....maybe this is just normal. I read somewhere that you will stall at the weight where you spent the majority of your life at. I was 255-265 for over 20 years.

The way it was explained to me by my team is that it's your body taking time to adjust. It's under a lot of stress during this time. When it's ready, it will lose again.

I guess I'm "lucky" then? I've never had a loss of under a pound two weeks in a row so far (almost 6 months out), but I haven't had many losses much over a pound either. I seem to just lose 1.2 to 1.6 pounds week after week, no matter what I do food and exercise-wise. It's slow going, but at least I am losing.

My first stall was 3-4 days... my next closer to a week... and my longest so far has been 10 days. Stalls are super-frustrating for sure, but don't let it bother you. You can search around on this site and see it as a frequent topic, and probably one of the most common things that happens post-op. Knowing that its normal, and not your own doing... shouldn't let it get you down.

Having said that, though, I know what it feels like and I hate my stalls too. I've tried to just ignore them, keep on doing my thing, and then I skip the scale for 3-4 days at a time and get pleasantly surprised when I find out I'm back on the losing wagon.

A tip I got from support group is to cheat a tad to help reboot things... if I find I'm on a 4-5 day stall, I eat something I normally wouldn't. Granted, cheating for me means a half cookie, or a spoonful of ice cream, or a Venti coffee instead of a Grande one... but I do try to do something a little different and more "naughty" to help spark some movement. Can't say the results are 100% effective... but it feels good to be naughty once in awhile anyway... :D

I count my blessings. Never had a stall weighed twice a week so if I stalled for a day or two I wouldn't have known it. 6 months post op. When I asked my surgeon early on about the "stalls" I see people talk about on here, it said not everyone necessarily has stalls.

I am 7 weeks out today and am also going through a stall. For the past 7 days the scales are stuck at 230.8. It is very frustrating. I keep thinking... Is this it?... Even though I know it will eventually start moving down again.

I'm also frustrated! I know I have to be patient but I've been 248 for almost a week now!!!

I've had a few stalls. The worst one was around 3 months. I stalled for about 3 weeks. I just kept doing what I was supposed to and it eventually broke. It's so frustrating. Hang in there.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
