marbelvsg 132 Posted February 16, 2015 I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow. I have been excited and still am. I don't think I feel nervous but I can't stop crying since yesterday. I am attributing this to starting my pre-op diet this week, as well as cutting out all caffeine. Did anyone else become very emotional for the day or two before surgery? MountianGirl 109 Posted February 16, 2015 I know I had a lot of fears too the night before. But not doing it was not an option for me. It's a normal reaction to a life changing event. Take a lot of deep breaths and keep going. All the luck in the world to you!
whirlwen 65 Posted February 16, 2015 Keep the faith! This is a huge lifestyle change so it is only natural that it bring up some intense emotions. The day of my surgery I was doubting my decision and almost had a full-fledged panic attack. But somewhere in the midst of it, I realized that the Universe brought me to this point for a reason. I have spent a lot of time meditating since then and have found that trusting the path has given me a lot more strength and courage. Happy and healing thoughts to you!!! IcanMakeit 1,318 Posted February 16, 2015 It's definitely normal to have strong emotions about such a life changing event. You will probably continue to have heightened emotions over the next few weeks. Do a lot of deep breathing and ask your loved ones to cut you some slack. Good luck with your surgery and I hope your recovery is fast and smooth.

alwaysvegas 702 Posted February 16, 2015 Any fears I felt before surgery were mitigated by all the success stories and first-hand accounts I heard in my bariatric support group. I was absolutely sure I was doing the right thing, but--like so many of other people--I wondered if I could just 'do it on my own"...again. I knew I could do it on my own, but I knew I'd also gain it back. And now with pre-diabetes cured, sleep apnea cured, high blood pressure cured, and high cholesterol cured...I wish I could've been sleeved 20 years ago. Best of luck in your surgery! LSF 264 Posted February 16, 2015 I cried before my date and even in the hospital prior to surgery. Mine was a revision surgery & I think I was more nervous about what the doc was going to find. It turned out fine & I was so relieved after that I had a speedy recovery
Pac-woman 325 Posted February 16, 2015 Yes, you will be a total mess and be on the pitty party train for yourself. Hunger will make anyone cranky and miserable, even worse for women I think. Specially around your period. It is normal. Hang on tight.

I'm feeling the same way my date for the lap band is March 6. Finally it's here so fear kicks in. That's all good. Enjoy your new life. I can't wait. I start my liquid diet Friday. ????????
