I'm 9 months out and have surpassed my goal. My daily calorie count ranges from 850 to 1050, but usually comes in at about 925. My carbs are at about 75g per day, but some of that is Fiber from Quest bars and Fiber gummies. I also try to eat fibrous vegetables at most meals. The other source of carbs is yogurt, which is my most common Breakfast. I'm switching from Activia light to Oikos Triple Zero. That will bring my sugar number down a bit.

I would really like to increase my calories to a more sustainable 1200, but I don't know how without gaining. I'll be working on that over the next few months.

Mindy my starting weight and hight is the same as yours. I feel I'm loosing very slow and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Would you mind letting me know where you were at 2 month? I'm down 25 pounds. We're you at 1200 calories from the beginning? I would appreciate any advice you can pass down.

I lost about 25 the first couple months but you couldn't tell until I lost about 50 lbs I lost. I stopped losing weight but then all of a sudden I went down tons of pants size. I stopped losing 4 1/2 months ago but I am so happy with the results. I hit my goal at about 5 months. Now I don't pay to much attention to the scale because you will still lose. At about 2 months I ate about 400 calories.

400 calories, wow. Seems awful tiny. But good for you on your loss!

It's funny you say that because very few have noticed my loss. It's good to hear that it kicked in after a stall. 400 calories is tough for me. In doing 800 along with exercising 4 times a week. Did you find that you were hungry? At 800 calories I'm hungry alot. Your words are very comforting and encouraging. Thanks

I'm not and was not hungry (i eat because I'm bored). I do eat so much healthier. I haven't really exercised since before the surgery (wish I would have). It's really hard to see yourself as thin. The first I walked by a full length mirror I cried. I still do a double take. I'm obsessed with writing everything I eat down. I really pay attention to the types of food I eat. I now write the times I eat. I feel I eat all the time but I don't.

That's wonderful and your hard work has definitely paid off. I'm starting to get back into cloths that I haven't seen in a few years. I'm hoping I drop more weight by summer. I use my fitness pal for a food journal and I have a fit bit that tracks all my activity. I found that I try to hit all my fitness goals daily. Thanks so much for all your help. I wish you continued success. One quick question.. do you follow a special diet?

I had just passed goal (-88 pounds) at 7 1/2 months and continued to lose another 10+ pounds. I've maintained for about 7 months at 1400-1600 calories. No idea what my carbs or anything else are because I've never tracked or measured my food. I only know the calories because I spot checked them around 3-5 months, at 6 months and a couple times since then. The only numbers I've ever bothered to pay attention to are Protein (60-80+grams) and fluids (64+oz)

However, your body is not like anyone else's, so I wouldn't spend too much time trying to compare to others. If you are losing and you feel good and your bloodwork looks good then just keep doing what you're doing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
