Finding a bra to fit

Recommended Posts

Ok anyone have a brand of bra that lifts and doesn't make your boobs sit on the side of your body. I'm having a hard time. I have lost a lot of weight but still have lots of boobs. It's real hard to find a 34DDD bra!!

I wear the same size as you, though I now have fake boobs (before lift and augment I was a 36DD). I wear Victoria Secret bras- and I like the Very Sexy style the best. I've worn that brand and style for years because they have good push-up power and support. They also have the extended sizes available online. In that style of bra you can't see a difference between what my old, real boobs looked like, and what the new ones look like. Of course, without a bra, it's night and day, but to me that really proved what a great bra the VS very sexy version is.

I went from a C to a AA. I can't find a bra to fit me either. I did find a sports bra that's padded that looks pretty good with clothes on. It's not very sexy though.

I second the Victoria Secret, especially the "Body by Victoria," Unfortunately, for your size, as for mine, Lane Bryant's Cacique brand doesn't carry the size you wrote. It can be quite a pain finding the right bra when your size isn't considered popular. If you do want to consider Cacique, you might want to try whatever the sister size to a 34DDD is in a 36 band, perhaps a 36DD. Sometimes it will work. Best in finding the perfect supporting bra!

Not sure how you feel about online shopping but I used to buy my daughter bras from barenecessities.com. They always seem to have hard-to-find sizes and reasonably priced. Google a coupon code , if you decide to purchase from their site.

Love the balconette bra from Lane Bryant! I have gone from a 42DDD to a 38H (band size went down but boobs the same size, so had to go up in cup size). These bras are so supportive and give great shape! Plus they go on sale every now and then, a definite plus!

Another vote for LB/Cacique. I walked in there thinking I knew what size I needed, without measuring the lady bumped me down two band sizes and up one cup, sent me to the changing room with three different bras and I no longer looked dumpy and frumpy.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
