@@VSGAnn2014 You have misunderstood me 100%. I am not upset nor bent out of shape. Neither you nor Kindle have been 100 compliant in every step of the way. Kindle may have lost the weight but even without knowing her, I know that she screwed up. I know that she did not comply with every step of what she was 'supposed' to do every step of the way. And I can tell you VSGAnn2014, that neither did YOU! As I said before...Let she/he who be without sin cast the first stone.

Huh. How do you KNOW? Interesting.

Ever since they took my soaps off the air, some of these threads are a pretty good substitute. I imagined I saw some hair pulling, and some name calling, and hair flipping going on. We are a support group. But start up a thread where you admit you are cheating can cause some real people with real feelings want to jump through these pages and make you see the light. I am truly happy you postponed, because as I said a few pages back, IMHO you aren't ready. Maybe you are now. But the people who have been there and done that know what a mistake it would've been to go ahead with the surgery if you had cheated. Do you realize the liquid diet is to shrink your liver? If your Doc gets in there and see's a fatty liver, he may close you up and say...come back when you're ready. OR...a Greedy Doc will perform OPEN surgery and gut you like a fish. Afterall...You signed a paper that said he could. So folks are just looking out for you so you have the best and healthiest outcome. All the best. Sherrie

What? I'm crazy because you don't agree with me? Hummmmm

I KNOW because I KNOW we are all human beings. And as such we are all flawed.

@Babbs": No I have not had surgery yet. I never said I did. All I said was that none of us has been 100% compliant with every single rule and step of the way. Am I mean to say what I think? I have the right to free speech. I will defend that right to my dying breath! Just as I will lay down my life for your right to disagree with me. I said that everyone has their struggles...I said she/he who be without sin cast the first stone. Is that you?

I never ate off plan until I passed goal. I followed every instruction my doctor gave me. I have gotten 60g+ Protein and 64oz+ Water every day. (Except when I was so nauseous from a medication I was on for a C. diff infection that I couldn't even swallow my own spit...which of course led to dehydration and IV fluids at which point my doctor and I found an alternative solution to cure the infection. In other words, make sure you drink!). I take my Vitamins every day. I get my bloodwork done as recommended and adjust supplements accordingly. I am active everyday. I lost over 100% of my excess weight and have kept it off for 7 months. Sure, now I eat deserts and carbs and drink alcohol, but I'm in maintenance and I'm allowed anything and everything in moderation. Any weight gain I observe I immediately check by going back to strict Protein and veggies.

Dear God: Please make me as perfect as Kindle,

Dear God: Please make me as perfect as Kindle,

You seriously edited your post to call out specific people? Wow.

You know what, though? You're right! Everyone should pray/wish/hope/aspire to adhere to their plan as well as @@Kindle has.

Why in the world would you want anything less for yourself? I'm certainly not perfect but I can tell you that I followed my surgeon's preop plan to the T.

Well, no, not really. I lied. He prescribed it for two weeks. I chose to do it for a month.

Wait. What?? Of course not! And I have had MANY struggles with this process, and I am usually the first one to post them for a little encouragement and help. I'm a newbie, and still have so much to learn during this process!

What I do know is if I'm not compliant with the program most of the time, (which I am, and proud to say that) this will all be for not. I think people get concerned when they see someone who does not have the correct mentality to be successful. The veterans can see it a mile away. Like someone else said, they just want the OP to understand that this is a life long change, not another "diet" we have ALL been on 100 times.

My gosh, nobody is claiming to be perfect. Just compliant. Why again is this a bad thing?? Yes, we all "slip up" once in a while. But if it's CONSISTENT, then that person is not in the mindset they need to be to become a successful WLS patient. I think that's all they we are saying.

Stop being so touchy and maybe learn a thing or two from people who have been there.

I 100% applaud, and have so much respect for people that can follow a diet 100% to the letter, and not give in to temptation. I mean that. I wish I was that strong. I am having this surgery to help me with control, as a tool.

I think we all get a little defensive when we feel like we are being judged by others that obviously had similar issues at one time. It can feel like you don't remember or understand the struggle.

I have cheated on my pre-op, I do not feel ill prepared. I have spent an incredible amount of time watching you tube, reading, talking with people that have had it done. It has comsumed my life for a year.

While I plan on following a low carb, high Protein diet after being sleeved, I refuse to deprive myself. My NUT also suggests not depriving yourself. Everything in moderation.

I am very sorry if I offended anyone on this thread.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
