Hope you guys are doing good!!

I bet a lot more are getting surgery dates each day :D

Don't forget that we have an already well established completely SECRET group for May and June Sleevers!

Send me a message on here with your email so I can add you.

Literally no one will be able to see the group because it will not even show in the search function on Facebook.< /p>

:) Good luck everyone!

June 11th and I can't wait!! I've waited long enough! Bring it on... We ALLLLL got this! I think the wait is the worst part.

I'm June 12 th and I can't wait either!! I am starting kind of a Protein shake/ fruit/veggie diet tomorrow then whe it gets closer I will switch over to just the shakes. I have a really high BMI and I want to do everything I can so there are no complications.

Where are you having your surgery done?

Hey :) One of my buddies pointed out that if I didn't want my older sister to find out about the surgery until after the fact I should probably not use my real name :) So using my 'real' forum name that I've used forever and ever lol sorry if I confused anyone!

I am scheduled for June 12th! I know I need this but I am so scared!! I keep having doubts. I know I need it and have to do it. One minute I'll be excited for the future then the next minute I think I'm crazy for doing this! Is this normal? Do you other June sleevers feel this way?

By the way, this is my first post :) I am a 38 year old mother of three, and have been overweight since I was 9! My parents have weight related health issues and I don't want that for my future. That's why I need this and am choosing this!

@@hopefulmom76 oh my yes!!! I'm scheduled fur June 12 as well. I'm doing this so I can avoid getting diabetes and lots of other illnesses. And so I can be more active with my 6yr old and help him develop good habits, cause I already see him picking up some of my bad ones!!! I was going back and forth too, but I'm 40 years old and don't want to keep losing and regaining the same dang 15 lbs like I have for the past 10 years, when I need to use 80! So I know I have to do something different. Cause repeating the same diets, is just insanity! BTW for inspiration, I look at before and after sleeve pics. There's one forum under post gastric sleeve questions.

Seriously!!!??? Same day!! Wow, that's awesome! I'm going to be alone for the first day & night, my sister will be able to join me at the recovery house. I'm a bit nervous going by myself. And find myself waffling this week, cause I just found out I'm on my own for first day. It will be so great to meet you. Got your back girl!!! We are doing this to be healthier and breed good habits for our kids! Yeah!!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
