I had my surgery on a Friday and returned back to work on Wednesday. I'm a RN a work 12+ hour shifts in a hospital. Did two in a row and the girls I work with were great and did any lifting that was needed for me. No problem at all.

I took 3 weeks off, but could have gone back after one. I had family down during that time and decided it would be better spent with them and taking it easy

I took one week off but I now wish I would have planned to take 2 weeks.

I've planned two weeks (my surgery is this Sunday) but work are very flexible and my boss has said I should take whatever time I need.

My only worry is that I have a work trip to Brussels the week I get back - early morning train, full day of meetings, overnight stay, another full day of meetings and late train back the following day. I'm a bit worried about how I'll handle it - it will be about 2 1/2 weeks post surgery.

If that does get cancelled, and it might, I may ask to work from home for the third week.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
