Hi.. Question I was sleeves on 2/4 but I want to know how you guys/girls handle going out to eat at restaurants. I know I'm on limited diet for weeks but do you order from child's menu, I know some places don't allow adults to do that.. Thanks in advance

My surgeon actually gave me a card to show when I go out. It says that I have had a surgical procedure that limits my consumption to 1/10 of an adult meal and basically ask the to reduce the price of my meal to senior or child's meal. Not sure if all restaurants will honor it. I'm two weeks out and tonight is the first night I will go out to eat. I plan to have Soup but curious to see how I will do

I typically order soup/chili or a salad and just eat the toppings off of it.

Went out tonight with my family to our favorite Italian place. I'm still officially on "soft" foods. I ordered a side of two meatballs... Ate one and picked a couple bites of cheese off my sons pizza. It was delicious, actually!

I've eaten out quite a bit, as I do work lunches often. Chinese and Thai are good, I've eaten Soup, curry, eggplant. Tofu works for me, my pouch doesn't do beef or pork well yet. Egg salad at the sandwich place, hummus appetizer at Mediterranean food, refried Beans and cheese at Mexican. I have yet to find a place with nothing I can eat.

I sometimes get sides or appetizers, take a lot home, or (horror of horrors!) just don't eat it all.

I take a lot home. I get very worried waiters asking if everything is ok all he time. I'll eat on it for a few days and then throw most out. I just love the taste. Kinda of like Julia childs just taking a bite of everything to taste it not to fill up on.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
