Dinner - what do you eat?

Recommended Posts

I can't believe I'm 4.5 months out and still struggle with an appropriate dinner. It seems any meal I prepare makes me bubble up with gas and become nauseous. My Breakfast is a shake. My lunch a yogurt. I can't seem to break old habit and eliminate "the dinner meal". Should I really have yogurt for dinner and walk away?

What specifically are you currently eating for dinner that is causing this?

Try without the veggies for a few days to see what happens. You are chewing, chewing, chewing?? I know, you probably are. Try just the Protein for a few days and then slowly bring some veg back in. I still don't eat much lettuce for some reason. I do seem to be ok with green and red peppers and tomatoes. Keep in mind that I am just grasping at straws. Also talk with your surgeon and NUT.

My NUT has impossible office hours. Unfortunately, I've seen her only once. Work makes it very difficult

I have been on totally solid food since week 7 and have been specifically forbidden from mushy or liquid with any calories at all. I am not sure why some doctors differ with there programs, but solid food has helped me maintain fullness. I usually cook for my family and have whatever they eat, just smaller portions with small bites! Good luck!

That's interesting to hear no liquids. My program pushes a shake for one meaal replacement and high Protein content.

I'm about 3 months out. My wife likes to go out. I order out of bad habits but only eat a few bites before I'm absolutely full. I just do a shake in the morning and at lunch also a shake.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
