MoJo119 12 Posted February 13, 2015 I am finishing up the last of my appointsment. I have my pych eval. on tomorrow, then one more appointment with my doctor before they submit all the paperwork to my insurance company for approval. During this process, I found out that I have sleep apnea and high blood pressure. I thought I did not have any comorbities. So I'm little afraid of these things. However, I am starting to get anxious about having the surgery. I kind of wish it would be over already. I'm ready to start losing weight and moving on the next chapter of my life. Here are some things I worry about: Will I be able to loose as much weight as I need to? Will I be able to control my eating? Will there be a lot of pain after surgery? Will I be able to get my mind in the right place to stay healthy? Please any advice would be great! Thanks, Mo
CC197823 42 Posted February 13, 2015 Still a newbie, can only answer about the pain. I can't lie I was in a lot of pain right out of surgery and had the moments of "what did I do to myself" but with every nap I felt better and better. I'm 9 days out and have been pain free for awhile.
mae7365 372 Posted February 13, 2015 My answer to all four questions has been yes. It's hard to explain how the surgery helps curb all those food issues. You just don't have room to eat like you did before surgery. But, you also have to want to stay focused. It's real easy to gain weight eating sliders.......chips, pretzels, Cookies etc. all go down and feel real nice. You still have to discipline yourself to follow the high Protein low carb diet.
