RachaelL 0 Posted February 13, 2015 Hello All, Hope you are all doing well. Thank God I am 5 months out and 75 pounds down!! I was wondering i anyone can help me here with some nutrition here. tried to call my Nutritionist today but she was out of the office. I try to stick to the plan the Nutritionist gave out to us pre-surgery as best as I can. Yesterday I looked at the Natural Peanut Butter jar (made from pure peanuts and some salt) and it had 8grams Protein which is awesome but i think 12 grams fat (not so awesome) per serving. Is it bad decision to have half a serving a day.. so I can dip some peanut butter into apple as healthy snack? or did nutritionist not have that in mind? Thanks so much for your help!!! Rachael! motherof5 364 Posted February 13, 2015 Can you get the reduced fat peanut? I for one love Peanut Butter and I get the regular one. I just make sure to do the serving size. I love peanut butter so much that my hubby hates the smell of it now, lol.
LSF 264 Posted February 13, 2015 Apples with Peanut Butter is on my Nutritionist plan. I buy the cups " to go" because they are portioned sized
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted February 13, 2015 A lot of the fat in Peanut Butter is considered "healthy fat" the way the fat in avocados is. So the fat content itself shouldn't throw you off. However, the calorie content is high, since healthy fats have just as many calories as unhealthy fats. So if you are overly concerned about calorie counting, you might want to steer clear. mae7365 372 Posted February 13, 2015 I eat regular Peanut Butter, measure the serving, and add it to the MyFitnessPal tracker. If I go over my fat goal, it's never by a lot.
