Hey everyone, I am currently trying to go through True Results Hiatal Hernia Program. I went to my free consultation 2/20/15 where they gave me a physical, and lung test, and I also did blood work. I was told that after my blood work results came back they would contact me to schedule a ECG to check for a hernia. I know they have received my blood tests results because I called & they told me they did & that a nurse would call me back but they still haven't. I'm still nervous I won't have a hernia & won't be able to afford the surgery which I so badly need & want. I know that I have high cholesterol & my liver enzymes are elevated as well due to my weight. Has anyone else out there gone through True Results Hernia Program? If so, how was your experience & how fast was the process to finally get surgery? Thanks! :)

I've not met anyone who didn't have one. They want to check and make sure there are no surprises down there before they start cutting. Seems like a fine idea to me. And the procedure its self was not a big deal at all. They found a hiatial hernia when they did mine which led to a correct diagnosis and successful treatment of silent refuux. I'd been incorrectly diagnosed and unsuccessfully treated for asthma for 10 years prior. It's glorious to breathe again!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
