I haven't felt pain. But you know what I have felt? Itchy. My skin around my tummy, and back of my legs are so itchy at night. I literally wake up in the middle of the night and lather up with lotion so it stops and I go back to bed. I don't know if it is dehydration, dry skin, or fat shrinking. lol

Just like your stomach itches when it is stretching and your getting fat, I wonder if it is the same thing the other way around.

I'm almost 4 months post op and I only hurt when I eat bad things and that's mental hurt lol. If anything I feel amazing! I really noticed how less aches I have throughout my body. I've lost 58lbs and I feel amazing. The other day and work I had to lift 30lbs and thought to myself wow I had to carry this plus more before wow no wonder I was in pain. I don't know how long your post op but maybe it's still pain from the surgery.

Pac-woman - the itching is likely from your skin being dry - you're not getting all the nutrients your body needs and your skin is likely suffering a little as a result. I've noticed the same itching / dry feeling. Probably a little dehydrated too.

Sounds like a gallbladder problem to me. Does it hurt mostly after you eat (especially spicy)? Is the pain enhanced when you poke your finger up and under your bottom ribs?

Actually my aches & pains have decreased with the weight loss because of my arthritis. I was very tired for the first month but I'm past that now.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
