allwright 0 Posted June 5, 2007 As many docs and dieticians say no drinking through straws(ooooh -air in = air pain)...I went to GNC(health food store) and bought 2 20 oz, cups with sippy type closeable lids. This helped me a lot to have a crystal lite drink around me at all times. I could grab them to have in car, on treadmill, bedside and outside. Whatever works!! 2bthinagn 3 Posted August 10, 2007 Something that is saving me is one of those microwaveable neck wraps. I have been warming it for 75 seconds and laying it on my chest. Feels wonderful
dialit 0 Posted August 12, 2007 If you are on any prescription meds, check with your pharmacist to make sure they can be broken or crushed. If not, talk with your PCP about substitutions. This was VERY important to me, as I realized, TOO LATE, that at least one of my four blood pressure meds, which could not be broken or crushed, was too large to swallow post-op! We decided to just cut that one out, and it turned out fine, but it gave me real worries at first! Also, important to note that some anti-depressents (like Wellbutrin) cannot be broken or crushed. IF YOU ARE ON ANY PRESCRIPTION MEDS, CHECK WITH YOUR PCP and SURGEON ABOUT POST-OP SOLUTIONS!!!
