So I know a lot of people Celebrate every little NSV and to an extent, I do too. BUT! Today I think I have my biggest NSV yet.

As of this morning, I have lost enough weight that I would no longer qualify for VSG since I had no co-morbities.

To me, that is huge!

Would love to hear some of the NSVs you considered major.

Keep up the good work everybody!

Ok, so in hindsight I realize this might not actually be considered and NSV since I'm talking about weight. But It's my BMI that really made me think of this.

Congratulations! There are so many big ones that it is hard to pick one.

This week I have been in beautiful Hawaii with my family. In fact, I am sitting out on my balcony on the ship in Kauai listening to my music via headphones while the rest of my family is sleeping.

This vacation was the first in so many years that I was actually able to keep up with everyone every single day. I would call that one of the biggest wins for me outside some of very improved health.

I am blessed with a whole new life!

I had a NSV this week. I actually went into Victoria Secrets and brought some workout pants ( size medium) and a hoodie(size L) First time I have ever purchased anything from there and I felt comfortable browsing around. Before my weight loss I would go in there to buy things for my daughter and I used to feel so awkward- not anymore!! Plus while I was shopping I would catch glimpses of myself in the store windows and was so surprised that I looked like a "normal" sized woman. This surgery has helped me make so many positive changes!!

Non scale victory. Like fitting into an old pair of jeans, or having a roomier seat. A victory that doesn't involve the number on a scale.< /p>

My blood pressure was normal last Friday 120/80 without medications. I've never seen a number so low. So happy!!! I'd go through this over and over again to achieve this result!

I'm actually going into my kids school to volunteer at the book fair :-) I'm still big. But I'm not as big. So I finally feel like I can make an appearance in school without kids saying smack about me to my kids. I hope anyways!

Well I'm a new post op, little over a week, but I already have a NVS.. For the first time in 20 years, I'm under 300 pounds! I almost fainted when the scale read 286!

Mine was when my son hugged me yesterday and said "look mom!!! My arms fit around your tummy!!!" His hands overlap and he could reach all the way around me. That made my year!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
