I am looking to try to make more homemade pureed food rather than eating baby food. I really can't get past the smell of most baby foods. I got a Ninja Master Prep that purees food really well. I've experimented a few times with carrots and califlower.

Do you guys make your own pureed food? What recipes do you recommend for pureed food?

I didn't puree very much. The only thing I pureed was vegetable Soup. Then I poured it into ice cube trays to freeze. Each cube is 2 oz of food. I would eat 2 cubes at a meal. Otherwise I ate a lot of cottage cheese, eggs and Tomato Soup. I would just make a point to chew, chew, chew. They idea of pureeing food just really turned me off.

I hope this stage goes better for you.

I pureed a few things in the beginning but it is just as easy to mash it with a fork than to blend it and then have to clean up. Most things that we can have right now are already soft so it is easy to mash.

I did a baked low fat ricotta bake. You can get recipe from the blog the world according to eggface. I topped it with pesto and parmesan.

I did a corn and shrimp chowder.

Egg drop Soup.< /p>

Split pea soup.

I prefered not to purree meats because it just reminded me of cat or dog food. Everything I ate was light in color.....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
