starbuckscoffeegal 36 Posted February 11, 2015 I am on day 2 of my pre- surgery diet and I am so hungry. My stomach won't stop growling. Any advice? Anyone in the boat with me right now?
acbayliss 33 Posted February 11, 2015 I really hated the pre-surgery diet. I was awful to live with. What helped me the most was crystal light. I drank it between Protein Shakes and it helped keep the hunger at bay. Good luck to you!!
thick2thin 33 Posted February 12, 2015 I'm on day 4 of my pre op liquid diet. And I HATE it!! I feel the same way. I'm hungry, stomach grumbles constantly. But I find that chewing on sugar free gum helps. Also, I have a sugar free Popsicle in between my Protein Shakes. That helps too!
chubbsey1 126 Posted February 12, 2015 I'm on day 9 of this existence, low sodium broth, coffee,sf popsicles,sf Jello all of these help if you are allowed them every pre op diet is a little different. Also I find it helps to keep busy, read a book, watch a movie, work just don't watch the food network. I felt a little better around day 5 but been having my ups and downs. Hang in there! kcadoret 81 Posted February 12, 2015 This is my biggest fear! I've been thinking about trying to get a last minute trip somewhere for the first bit of it, to help keep me distracted. Thoughts?!
highdesertblue 70 Posted February 12, 2015 @@kcadoret If you can go on a pre-surgery trip, I say go and have fun! Just so you can stay on your diet, what's the harm? It will take your mind off everything.
nybaby 6 Posted February 12, 2015 For me this part of the journey was extremely hard. I was constantly hungry, and craving all kinds of foods. I had to do it for a week, and the first day of the diet started off good, but by around five pm that day, I gave in and had a sandwich from SubWay!! afterwards I felt very guilty, and disappointed with myself. For sure I thought there is no way that I will be able to commit to this if I cant even do this for a week. But after thinking long and hard about the ways that my life was about to change, I buckled up, and started to eat the things that the nutritionist assigned to me. The day of my surgery was this past January 28th, and everything came out great!! I am now 2 weeks post op. So please believe that you will be able to do this. Drink your shakes, and Water, and your broths and try and keep busy so that you don't think too much about your hunger. Good Luck, and know that you are going to be fine
Airplaneskinny 19 Posted February 16, 2015 I am on day 5, I do low sodium broths and made a Vietnamese Pho Soup, get sugar free popcicles and lemon Water. I actually do not have hunger pains. I figure it push comes to shove, I will eat something light, like and egg or something.
