What is Transformation?

Recommended Posts

The magic of transformation really isn't very magical.

Transformation is found in the daily practice of kindly, lovingly stretching ourselves and reaching for more in our lives and in our bodies .

That's what I'm doing in this 5 year old photo...when a disabled woman with chronic pain, opiate addiction and 170 pounds of excess weight bravely took a chance on a yoga class for the disabled.

I love this "me" from 5 years ago, I see her inner beauty shining and am so grateful to her for taking the leap of faith, in the absence of evidence, that things could be better.

WLS is a leap of faith, a big one! It can be a wonderful spring-board to transformation from un-wellness to health but additional leaps are required to get there.

What leaps of faith towards further wellness, happiness and fulfillment can YOU take today?

Love love love this. New beginnings are great, but I can't move forward truly unless I embrace that wonderful "me" that got me here! Truly a transformation. Congratulations!

I am 50 years old and only several months ago did I realize that I loved myself. I hadn't known that I hadn't loved myself... that it until I really loved myself. There were so many parts of me that I kept hidden, due to embarrassment, or fear of rejection, or fear of being judged.

Plastic surgery turned out to be freeing for me in so many ways. I put all of me out there now without any hesitation because I am secure in who I am... and that comes from self love. And finally, finally I can look back at old photos of myself morbidly obese and love that person I was, and feel compassion for her rather than disgust and shame.

I am proud of how I have turned my health and my life around. And what life lessons I have gotten from that have helped me to then share that message with other people and inspire them to take control of their health and their lives.

I have been told to investigate NLP. Might you recommend a good book on it? Thanks!

I echo everything you wrote, My Bariatric Life. BRAVA!! "Introducing NLP" and "NLP For Beginners" are both good choices for you.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
