LM337 1 Posted February 11, 2015 Ummmm either I had reverse surgery or maybe it is from all the IV fluids and drinking I did here tonight. Did this happen to anyone else?
Sue Magoo 71 Posted February 11, 2015 This is very normal because of the iv fluids. In a few days you'll have a day when you pee a lot and then you'll see the scale start its way down. Sue
Becoming Bariatrical 26 Posted February 11, 2015 No worries! It is expected, I weighed more for a week or so after surgery. Don't forget you have internal swelling and bloating. I will be better soon!
della street 213 Posted February 11, 2015 They should have told you it's very normal, and in fact, expected because of the IV fluids you received - I weighed about 8 lbs more day after surgery (very disheartening, I know, even if you know why...), but had lost 4 of those by the next day and quickly came off during recuperation. I'm 13 days out from bypass and have now lost 15 lbs from day of surgery (not including any of the Fluid weight; using weight from morning of surgery in the hospital). Hang in there! da50bear 83 Posted February 11, 2015 I had bypass surgery on jan 19. I lost 18 lbs on my 2 week preop diet. I came home from surgery the next day. I was super bloated and had gained 18 lbs..took 3 days to lose it..walking and even burping helps w the gas

Susan317 0 Posted February 21, 2015 Totally normal, but no one warned me that I wouldn't get any sleep the night they released me from the hospital. No pain, but I was running to the bathroom all night to get all the iv fluids out of my system. Lost all the weight I gained from hospital stay over about two days and on track ever since.
