Loss78 50 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) Hi everyone, I'm a newbie and this is my first post. Was just wondering if anybody on here has Aetna so-cal H. M. O. and if so could they share their stories on the journey to approval. I have my primary care physician on board, met with my NUT and she approved, had my psych evaluation and she approved, had my sleep study and was told I didn't need the cpap machine but when I hit REM sleep in the early morning hours, I stop breathing 8x's an hour and so my oxygen decreases during this time and to solve this issue I will need to lose weight. I am 36, 5'5 and weigh 225 (at my heaviest I was 245). I am pre-diabetic, and have high cholesterol (but not on meds at this time, but have been in the past). I am on meds for asthma. I am waiting to meet with the surgeon and to find out of they will approve the surgery. So my question is this, for anybody who has a similar situation as mine, how hard was it to gain approval? Is there anybody who has the same insurance that can shed some light on how difficult or easy it may be to get approval? Just trying to gain some knowledge and advice during the waiting game so any feedback would be very much appreciated.
