Mashed potatoes stuck on sleeve

Recommended Posts

I experienced something terrible! I had surgery jan 22 and i decided to make loght mashed potatoes . I made the one that comes in a plastic bag that u mix with milk or Water to make it as thick as u want.. But i made it real light.. I had some and a couple hrs later i had this terrible pain at the top of my stomach which lead me to the hospital and the pain sorta went away after 10 hrs! .. When can i start eating purée?? Do u think it was the mashed potatoes or the a little bit of butter that i put on it? Im home now and im afraid to drink or eat anything!! Help???

I fixed some mashed potatoes while I was on liquids.....the same kind. I fixed them so thin it was like a Soup. It was a wonderful change to broth. It sounds like you might have over ate or ate too fast. Remember to eat slow and small bites. It is best at first to eat with a baby spoon.

Why would you eat mashed taters so early in the game? It doesn't have the Protein you need.

3 weeks liquid...2 weeks pureed...that is how my program goes. No oatmeal or cream of wheat allowed on my liquid phase either. (New program rules where I am) I just started on purees a few days ago and everything is a new and challenging experience. Focus on getting that Protein in first! Good luck

I'm two weeks out and I am able to eat soft foods including eggs, eggs salad, chicken and tuna salad as well as soft cooked veggies and pureed fruit. The only time I have an issue is if I eat to much or too fast.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
