So confused

Recommended Posts

Ok I'm 2.5 years post op, I've never hit my goal weight. I have a belly and saggy boobs ( im only 29 :( ) I've been on 5 dates with a guy that im really falling for... We talk every night and I'm close to thinking I'm in love. I don't know when I should tell him about my surgery. i've intermittently been with guys since I had the surgery but nothing was serious so I just didn't care about it so I didn't tell him about the surgery. I also don't know how to bring that up into conversation. I am very self-conscious about my saggy stomach. I do not believe he will care because he has had physical issues in the past but I don't know how to handle the situation.

tomorrow he will see pictures from my vacation last week in Mexico with girlfriends so I'm sure he will realize that underneath the winter clothes I'm not as small as he thinks I am. So I need to have that conversation. I don't know how to handle it!

Honesty is always the best policy. If you can't think of how to say it just say. I have to talk to you about something and tell him that you hope it doesn't change things between you because you really care for him and tell him you want the relationship to be based on honesty and just say it. You will feel much better about it. And if he cares for you he will not have an issue with it. Good luck. Keep us posted. BTW if he cares about you he won't give a Crap.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
