Dolores33778 248 Posted February 11, 2015 What are you afraid of?
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted February 11, 2015 Laparoscopic surgeries are relatively easy. There's nothing to be afraid of.
KristyMe 28 Posted February 11, 2015 Pre-op scared: I won't be able to stay focused enough to stick with the pre-op diet. And/or I will be so crabby no one will be able to be around me. Post -Op: Personally, I'm afraid it won't work. Nothing will change and I will have put my body through this alteration and nothing. Or worse I will feel horrible after and I don't mean in recovery but like forever. That being said, I realize there is an element of the unknown. I accept that and understand that's where most of my fear comes from. I am working on issues in my life that will help me as I move through this transisiton to a healthier life emotionally and physically.
Dolores33778 248 Posted February 11, 2015 Thoughts become things. If you think something won't work, it won't. If you want this bad enough, and I think you do, then you do all you can to make sure you will succeed. Sure, we all have/had some doubt, but don't let that over power the willingness and confidence that you will need from this day forward.

I went into this with no qualms whatsoever. I had done my research. I followed my doctor's instructions to the letter and I was ready. Some small butterflies in my tummy day of surgery, but mostly just calmness. I had a smooth, easy surgery and no post-op pain to speak of.
