I'm about three weeks post op and cannot get warm!!! I am absolutely freezing all the time. Is this due to the very reduced calorie intake that I am having?? Any help would be really helpful. Thank you. ????

Being cold is something I read that is very common post op. I don't know if it is because we are losing all of our insulation or what. The best thing I have found so far are fleece leggings from Walmart. They are under $10 a pair and fit under all of my pants. They definitely make a huge difference.

Fat is an excellent insulator. When I lost the weight, I became more sensitive with the cold. When I am outdoors working in the snow, I discovered hand warmers. They are marvelous and now an essential element to my wellbeing.

I'm 8 weeks out and still freezing... I have grown used to thick socks, long sleeved shirts and extra blankets.

I can't believe how cold I am now. I used to be the type of person who NEVER wore long sleeves in winter, and even liked to sleep with the window cracked open in freezing weather. Now, I don't think I've been warm at all unless I'm in the shower almost scalding myself.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
