Frumoasa 3 Posted February 9, 2015 I just had my third weigh in this morning and I gained 0.4 oz and now I'm freaking out that I won't get approved. I have Aetna. I hope I don't get denied surgery.
anaxila 501 Posted February 9, 2015 Third weigh-in of how many?
anaxila 501 Posted February 9, 2015 I wouldn't worry about it. If you weigh more at the end than you did in the beginning they may have an issue. In fact, even aside from what insurance requires, my surgeon will cancel your surgery if a patient gains weight in the pre-op period. But the important thing is to show the effort and at least a little bit of progress throughout the 6-month cycle. I personally showed no movement at all until month 6, when I finally got serious. Good luck!
Frumoasa 3 Posted February 9, 2015 That makes me feel better. Thank you. Hopefully it will not be an issue. I see my surgeon next month.
Frumoasa 3 Posted February 9, 2015 I have lost 11 lbs in the first two months and I just started crossfit last week and my clothes feel a difference in my clothes so I think I'm losing inches. Grrrr
Crosby 303 Posted February 9, 2015 Aetna is " net loss " so you will be fine. I just got approved with a 6 pound gain but overall 13 pound loss.

SkinnyDown 409 Posted February 10, 2015 I'd check to see exactly what your team is asking for. My team decided for me I had to maintain my weight or lose. They actually sent me a letter of exactly what they expected, once they reviewed my case, and agreed to take me on as a patient. They may have been more lenient with me, because I am on 2 diabetes oral meds and 2 types of insulin. Nearly impossible to lose when on Insulin. Maybe that paired with Hashimoto's and PCOS they gave me a break. I've lost a few pounds, but I am also fluctuating wildly with pitting leg edema. Some days I can weigh as much as (5-10) lbs more or less, due to how much Water I am retaining. I don't know if any of this helps, but I'd check to make sure what was asked specifically. From your team and your insurance co.
