Just wondering if any of the "mature" sleevers (over 50) have any good suggestions for an effective facial moisturizer. After 2 1/2 months and 52 lbs., I'm starting to notice a lot more wrinkles! If there's a product out that that has helped anyone, I'd be happy to hear about it!

I think that's a matter of genetics. I had decent skin going into this and so far so good. In fact I'd say my skin looks even better. My routine is simple. I use my clarisonic mia 1x a day with DDF and moisturize with baby oil gel. I then wipe off the excess. In the evenings I wash with YES makeup remover cloths, wash with warm Water and once again moisturize with baby oil gel. I wear full face makeup (CoverFX foundation, powder, etc....) 3 - 4 days a week. On gym days I give my skin a break.

For the record, I'm 51 and so far I've lost over 55lbs

Hi Lolly123,

I am 54 and will be starting my 2 week preop diet on wednesday this week. I am concerned about the new "lines" I'm sure will show up. Currently, my skin looks pretty good because I think the fat is plumping out the lines..LOL! I know there is no miracle cream just good skin care. I must say, I am a huge fan of the clairsonic mia! Once I started using it regularly I noticed a definite change in the overall appearance of my skin. Regular cleansing and moisturizing are the best tips I can offer (my opinion only!! :). Have a great day!

I'm 69 and have lost 73 pounds, with 12 more to goal.

I am a big fan of Dr. Dennis Gross daily face peel (Steps 1 and 2). I do it about 3 times a week.

Otherwise, I use Clarins skin care products. Like them, too.

I swear by Rodan and Fields Reverse Line... I'm 53 and think I look pretty young for my age... Their cleanser and moisturizer (step 1 and 4) are Amazing! To be honest, the products are a little more expensive, but I think I'm worth it! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
