Shallow eye's upon us. *creepy*

Why do people feel the need to interject their opinion about body type/appearance.

The terms that people use to compliment about weight loss and new appearance baffle the hell out of me. I have no connection to people commenting about a persons physical self. Curios what terms have people described you as and what do they mean to you????

Handsome

Pretty

hot

athletic

Beautiful

Cute

sexy

For someone who thinks it is "creepy" and "shallow" and claims to "have no connection to people commenting about a persons physical self", you sure went out of your way to find a whole lot of photos of peoples bodies with labels on them.

I did find the two photos of body types on the web. Went out of my way to find them umm NO!. It is creepy to know someone took the time to collect the photos and label these body charts. I easily found them with one google search. Offensive photo's YES!... and that was one of the points of the thread.

Oh, oh......Anyways, I've been called FAT, many times in my life, and it always made me feel bad about being fat. Even if I already knew I was fat. Ok, I have no idea if I actually understand the question the op is asking, so also have no idea if I'm responding correctly.

I am genuinely not following the point. the web is full of weird stuff, good stuff, dumb stuff, helpful stuff, hateful stuff, inaccurate stuff... I could go on and on.

One observation from the photos is that I am fairly fit, but when I look at those photos, i think my body appearance more closely matches the "average" with a little influence of atheletic as I have well defined shoulders and calves. Maybe it is due to my age and obesity history - but i don't think I would ever look like the "fit" or "athletic" photo no matter how hard i trained.

Oh, and on the guys - my personal tastes would run halfway between "othermode" and "athletic". see - now we are talking!

Hahaha- the photos of the men were kinda funny. I suppose my type of man is "built fat", lol. As for the women, I'm not quite sure where I fit. Even at 130-132lbs, I don't look hot in a bikini. I've also had a lot of plastic surgery, the last of which is next month, and even then I'm probably going to look like the bottom half of me is "chubby" while the top half is "fit" or "curvy".

In terms of being called certain things, I am on a dating site and there are some things that I don't love. Of the hundreds of messages I get a month (not being conceited there are a lot of desperate men, lol), they almost all open with some stupid name. Hun, sweetie, sexy, gorgeous, beautiful...not sure why but they all kinda irk me. I like sweet names when I am dating someone, but when the first thing you say to someone is..hey sexy, my response is...hey ugly, get lost. So I'm a B..but whatever, lol.

I don't tend to think I can judge people being shallow, because I'm pretty shallow myself. As I mentioned, I like a certain body type in men, and I'm largely not interested or attracted to a lot of the others. I worked my butt off to be thin and have abs and a fat dude or an overly skinny one just doesn't turn me on. As such, I can't really complain if a man isn't attracted to some physical feature of mine. Looks are a huge part of the equation when it comes to the opposite sex, and as much as I can say that personality counts, and being a good person matters, and having good values is important...at the end of the day, if I'm not physically attracted to someone, it isn't going anywhere.

So...my name is Ava, and I am a shallow jerk. :)

Lol I'm obviously not a well written person.

I wanted to see what terms people have used to describe you. What were they and what does the term mean to you.

I love being called hot, beautiful, cute, etc. I liked it when I was fat and I love it now. I love it so much, I'm going to post my picture so y'all can shower me with shallow jerkiness.

I get annoyed by people who act as though I'm a different person because of my weight loss, but I've got no objection to compliments! I think I look much cuter, sexier, etc. now and don't mind people pointing it out (as appropriate based on our relationship etc.).

Not sure whatb"ottermode" means, but I'm with lipstick lady on that one. A couple others are intriguing as well...

I actually have changed since losing weight so I can't fault people on that one. My tolerance for bull is low my drive for positive, grab life by the horns stuff is high. Yeah..I changed

No, it's not you. It's me. I probably just didn't read with enough understanding. I'm enjoying the responses.

I am enjoying the compliments that I get after losing weight, I don't get the impression that the people saying them are being rude or shallow, its ment as a compliment, so I will take it that way. I get "Fantastic" "Hot" and "Stunning", and even though I know that it is all relative, at 61 Its nice to know it can still happen!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
