Hi! I am starting my testing on 3/18 to start the process for sleeve surgery.

Has anyone gained their weight back after sleeve surgery? Or do you know anyone who has?

What are your challenges on a daily basis after surgery?

I am doing as much research as I can. I want to make sure that after I go through this that I make it work. I don't want to

Gain weight back or fail and I am wondering what the chances are of that with the sleeve.

I am 45 I have hbp, sleep apnea and fatty liver. I'm scared for my health more so than my looks.

Any help you can offer would be most appreciated. I will be using Dr. Ahmad in Port Jefferson,️NY for my surgery.

Hi,

Maybe you don't realize this, but you posted the exact same thing 6 times. You can delete the others.

Start by reading all posts in all the forums. People discuss what their challenges are on a daily basis.

If you are determined and follow the plan you will succeed.

I wish I could answer your questions, but I haven't had my surgery yet. I have been very worried about regaining the weight as well. My mother-in-law had gastric bypass about 10 years ago and has regained a lot, if not all, of the weight. What I've learned from watching her is that you have to make the lifestyle changes--it is not a miracle cure. I have followed (almost) all of the surgeon's and nutritionist's suggestions to a T (the only one I have been fickle about is the exercise :) This is my only opportunity to get this right, so I am determined. You can do it, too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
