snapdragon05 44 Posted February 8, 2015 Hi! I am starting my testing on 3/18 to start the process for sleeve surgery. Has anyone gained their weight back after sleeve surgery? Or do you know anyone who has? What are your challenges on a daily basis after surgery? I am doing as much research as I can. I want to make sure that after I go through this that I make it work. I don't want to Gain weight back or fail and I am wondering what the chances are of that with the sleeve. I am 45 I have hbp, sleep apnea and fatty liver. I'm scared for my health more so than my looks. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated. I will be using Dr. Ahmad in Port Jefferson,️NY for my surgery. BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted February 9, 2015 The only people I know who have gained back their weight were not following the program. This isn't a cure all. You still have to put in the work by making good eating choices and exercising regularly. My only challenges were finding what I could eat as a vegetarian with multiple food choices and the mental game of making good food choices on a daily basis. Other than that I've had a relatively easy time of it. Despite having a high BMI going into this I had no co-morbs and I had been exercising regularly prior to surgery. snapdragon05 44 Posted February 14, 2015 I have to wait until March for my first round of testing. Hoping for a date May or June. Thank you all so much for sharing. I really appreciate it. Happy Valentines Day!
Jenngf5 95 Posted February 14, 2015 The first week can suck. But I SWEAR it gets better and then great! Almost one month out and back to work and I feel like a new person who is almost twenty pounds lighter than surgery day. Reward though for missing boobs! In either case, my hardest thing now is the pre planning to make sure I have good food in the house and available at work. Protein first! Fluids fluids fluids! Best of luck to you!
