CountryGirl5584 115 Posted February 7, 2015 But do you have to take your underwear off for surgery?
Grrrrrrr really? 20 Posted February 7, 2015 Its not a silly question if you have never had a surgery! The answer is yes. You will be asked to remove all of your clothing and they will provide you with a gown and non slip socks. Good luck on you Surgery!
Tired_of_being_Tired 28 Posted February 7, 2015 It really depends who your Doctor is. I was on my monthly cycle and did not have to remove my undies. I also did not have drains, or a catheter and I hear many do. I guess it just depends...
Jessiegirl30 149 Posted February 7, 2015 I didn't have to :-)
JamieLogical 8,710 Posted February 7, 2015 They gave me some paper underwear to put on along with my gown and booties, but they were too small so I went commando.

After trying them on and sending my sister into hysterical laughing I went commando, too.

alwaysvegas 702 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) I was required to go command and had both a drain and a catheter put in place while I was in dreamland. I was not pleased with the catheter. Edited February 7, 2015 by AlwaysVegas
Luvin_Life125 558 Posted February 7, 2015 Commando here also. I wore a gown and slipper socks into the OR. I woke up with both a catheter and a drain. I remained in just my gown and socks until I was being discharged. I did not want to have to fight underwear on top of dealing with the drain, keeping the IV out of the way, and lifting the gown and all of its strings trying to go to the restroom. I am not usually very patient the first few days after being sedated, so commando was the best option for me.
Justajenn 65 Posted February 7, 2015 They gave me paper undies that were more like shorts. They went to my knees and I had to hold onto them when I up or they fell off. Switched into my yoga pants right after surgery. Much easier to walk the halls in.
