Halfway there....So Excited! (pics)

As of this morning I can say I am more than halfway to my goal. I was so happy I literally jumped off the scale yelling!! LOL

I started this journey in January of 2014 at my highest weight ever of 324, but my pre op weight was 314 and today I was 243. I will be 15 weeks post op on Monday the 9th. I could not wait to get on here to change my ticker since I knew the weight lost would be greater than the weight to lose. :D :D :D :D

At almost 4 months post op I find that I can eat a little bit more of some foods, and that my tummy tolerates pretty much anything I have tried. I like that I am not afraid to eat out anymore, and that my family is more than willing to let me pick the entrée and share with me. Like last night we ate out, me and my hubby ordered the pork shoulder plate. It came with two sides we got French fries (gasp!) and cottage cheese. When it came I took about 2oz of meat off the plate moved it to mine and took the cottage cheese. I ended up eating all the pork (Protein first) about 4 bites of the cottage cheese, (not a big fan but know it is good for me) and I had 5 French fries. YUM!! No one ordered drinks just Water and our bill was only 20.15. You have to love that!! I have found no matter where we go I am fine picking something to eat, in the beginning I would panic wondering what could I eat, what would Sherman tolerate?? It was kinda stressful. But now it's just like any other time except I am not eating everything in sight. :P

Well after sharing my accomplishment with my daughter, hubby and my mom this morning I couldn't wait to get on here and share with you guys!!

Here's to heading into the second phase of my weight loss!! I hope this encourages anyone who may be struggling or just starting off! Please Please remember if we work this tool like we should we will get results!! Oh and my arms are a bit sore from my hubby working me out at the gym yesterday, good thing I can still type, just don't ask me to reach up for anything. LOL ;) :)

I'm in a similar place--- more than halfway down, feeling stronger and my head's in a better place too. Kind of great, isn't it?

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
