Ok,all you ladies out there. Maybe you can help me out. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out from surgery, and all of a sudden everything I eat no matter how soft, feels like it has trouble going through. I could hardly eat anything yesterday. This morning I'm eating some scrambled eggs and every bite is painful. I remember reading somewhere that hormone fluctuations can cause this to happen. I'm just hoping that's what it is and nothing is wrong with my band! Thanks in advance for your input!

I went in for a fill the other day and for 2 or 3 days I felt fuller when I was eating where there was no restriction before, I was shocked to learn that because I was retaining Water from my menstrual cycle that it can press on the band, and cause further restriction, he didn't give me the normal 1.5cc that he usually gives because he was afraid it would be too much so he gave me .75cc. If anything feels off and it is scaring you call your Dr. though if you keep getting stuck even on soft foods you could have a blockage or could be too tight.

How long does it usually last? I can't eat even yogurt or pudding without feeling like it can hardly go through. Then it feels very uncomfortable for quite a while after. I go for my first feel in 2 weeks. I hope I'm back to normal by then..

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
