Trvelgirl,

So funny you mention the bodybugg. I was just reading posts on it. This was the first time I looked up there website to see what it does, and then I started wanting it bad. I'm like you thinking I'll obsess over it. I was trying to think of a reason to reward myself with it, but it is so expensive. I didn't know about the actitrainer. I'll look at that too.

I just hate spending so much, but this sounds so much more simplier than fitday. I did that for a month, then quit logging it all. I'm on computers all day at work and sometimes, when I come home, I don't even want to get on it again. That's one thing I wonder if I do purchase something like bodybugg, if I will take the time every night to upload the data.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with port pain. I feel a lot better.

You guys are not the only one who wants a budybugg!!! I just can't afford it. It is times like this I wish I had a credit card (though this is the exact reason I don't!) I have been slowly putting money away as I am saving gas riding my bike to work (I figure at $3.15 a gallon I save about $4 each time I ride there). So I am going to get myself something with the money one day. So maybe next summer lol. I figure if I want it still in a few months then maybe I can try to get it (Christmas present?) or something. But I don't want it to be a waste of my time. Right now I am losing weight so I am not as concerned about it as i would be if I wasn't.

I did go out and buy a thermogenic though. I remember Telly writing about taking Lipo-6 and since I got a big paycheck I went and splurged. I got the more expensive stuff since hey it should work better right? The pill is huge though. But it has like a liquid outer core that works immediately with a smaller capsule on the inner core that is extended release. SO I took it with some hot Water and it seems to have gone down. So I will see what kind of difference that makes on my weight loss this week.

I don't have port pain if I over eat...just bad heart burn.

Oh and I got the best compliment from my best friend yesterday. I haven't seen her in a few weeks and when we were driving in the car she looks at me and says "Oh my God your chin is gone" I started laughing and said well I am maybe down to 1 and a half. She said no really you only have one now. I must admit it feels good when people notice things.

Oh crap and I fit into a go cart with my son yesterday. The last time I went several years ago with my daughter I almost squished her to death. I think I am just having a great week.

Travelgirl I expect some stories like this from you soon since you are getting your ass in gear this week!

All right, so maybe I was beating myself up over nothing... I got up this morning (I am a once-a-day weigher...I'll explain later) and I was at 230.1!!!!!!!!!!

Only thing I can figure is that I was still retaining Water a whole week after my period was over. I went to the bathroom before I went to bed last night, and then I got up 5 or 6 times through the night and had to go again....I know diabetics do this, and I was diagnosed with diabetes before surgery, so I checked my sugar, and it was normal, so water retention is all I can figure.

On the weighing once a day. I do this NOT to obsess over my weight, but just as a barometer on how I'm doing. If it's up, I know something I did in the last couple of days needs to be looked at. And since I'm keeping a food and exercise log, it's pretty easy to see patterns.

Anyway, I do still need to buckle down and quit eating the crap, and get back on track with my exercise.

I go crazy if I weigh myself once a day. Too much up and down stuff for me. But it is still hard for me not to. I mean I want to know daily but once i do know I get frustrated. But weekly is working for me.

Dh and I went to the movies to see Oceans 13 last night. And for the first time in my life I saw a movie without any popcorn. And I didn't die or feel like I was missing out. So now that I have done it once I can do it again right? I do love popcorn but I think that it would have taken me all week to get rid of all that sodium.

How is everyone doing?

Babygrl,

I know what you mean abou the popcorn. You did great. sometimes I grab and handful and that's all I get. AMC sells goldfish crackers, so i'll buy those and eat half the bag. My son eats 2 bags of microwave popcorn everynight. We went to see Fantatastic 4. It was at the movie grill where you order dinner too. I ordered the kids chicknr tenders and ate both. 4 french fries and chips/hotsauce. I was so full, it hurt to stand up. We walked around the mall some afterwards, but it was uncomfortable. I don't know why I'm been eating more than I should. Aunt Flo is next week, maybe that's the deal.

We're going out of town next week so I hope I'll stay on track.

I weigh myself everyday. I know I probably shouldn't but I think it helps me to try harder the next day, if I see it go up.

SO, I have read some of your June Challenge and want to jump on with the July challenge if you all have one.....I've been slacking this month and need to get back into the groove, so let me know what the plan is......I'M GAME.....Watch out lap-band.

That's what I was wondering.....

I've been slacking off SO bad, I almost feel like, well, the month is almost over, I'll start again and hit it hard next month. WHICH I KNOW IS THE WRONG WAY TO APPROACH THIS! I need to get off my ass and get moving! Dammit, that's basically the same mentality as, "Well, I'll start my new diet on Monday", and then never following through with it.

OK, you have my word, I WILL exercise tonight. One day at a time.....Right?

We have to keep the challenges going, and I'm even thinking about maybe starting a food accountability thread. Anyone interested in doing that? Or maybe we could integrate it with the challenge thread?

Yeah here is my food accountability. I ate some cold pizza for Breakfast which I promptly barfed up about 10 minutes later. And I wondered why it went down so easy in about 5 minutes. Sooooo stupid.

This Lipo6x stuff is kicking my appetites ass though. I have not felt hunger since I started taking it. I have to force myself to eat and I feel sick when I eat in between meals. My snacking is pretty much right around zero. My menu today consisted of the small slice a pizza (all of which came back up) a slim fast Protein Bar, a cup of Tomato Soup, and a very small bowl of raisin bran (like maybe 1/4 cup) with milk. I don't even want to think about my Protein Shake right now I feel so full. So the eating is under control at the moment. I just have to avoid stupid impulses like pizza (DH bought last night since I was not home)I am enjoying the slimfast protien bars too. The peanut one is delish. I am not sure about the weight since I don't weigh in until Friday but I will let you guys know.

Hmmmm...I have to own up to what I've eaten today??? Uh-oh. I'm in trouble.

Breakfast:

1/3 cup cottage cheese

12 (or so) Triscuit Thin Crisps

Lunch:

4"x4" square of hamburger quiche type casserole (1' deep)

Supper:

None yet

Snack(s)

4 peanut/caramel chocolate clusters (like a turtle, but with peanuts)

2 handfuls of Reece's Pieces (shot my blood sugar up to 150!!! Feel like total crap, not doing that again!)

See, this is why I want an accountability thread for food. If I'd known I'd have to fess up to it, I'd have made different choices for my "snacks", if I had anything at all. I wasn't hungry, just jonesing for sweet.

FROZEN GRAPES!!!!!!!! are so delicious (Thank you Fergie for helping me spell that) They really help my sweet cravings.

I have been craving spicy lately. I had a few Jalepeno and Black bean flavored tortilla chips dipped in some hummus yesterday that was to die for.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
