Excited to love myself again!

Recommended Posts

It's finally almost here! Surgery date is 2 weeks away on the 19th!! I am so nervous and excited at the same time!! All I have to do is go to my Preop and make sure i didn't gain any weight, my last test before the surgery!!! I cannot wait to feel good about myself again and have a whole new beginning!!! And just know how it feels to be comfortable in clothes for the first time ever!!!

about to start your new life :)

wonderful feeling :)

i'm sure, you know that you have a lot of hard work to do to lose weight

now you have been successful and at goal

life is good you are happy

no more work to do

NOT

actualllllly - life begins at maintenance :)

you have learned a new lifestyle

you need to follow all the many "rules" you've learned

for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life :)

but............that 's ok

what a terrific life is in front of you :)

we've all lost the weight before, and before, and before and be....... ;)

then we've always ended up gaining, and gaining and gaining and gai............

you will keep the weight off - as long as you........

continue the good habits you've learned while you were losing weight

you work with the sleeve/and the sleeve will work for you :)

you'll experience terrific new "firsts" :)

feeling healthier

getting rid of or improvement of certain co-morbidities (msp)

losing (decreasing meds)

walking better

able to be more and more active

ability to sit on a regular public toilet :)

leaving the handi-capped toilet for someone that really needs it

getting in and out of the car easier than before

trying on a new pair of pants - realizing they are too big

clothing sizes going down south

wrapping a bath towel around yourself after your shower

being unrecognizable by people since you've lost weight

those are just a few of the many, many new experiences you'll have

good luck with surgery in a couple of weeks

happy for YOU, that YOU are happy and excited

two weeks will be here before you know it

anticipation is fun too :)

kathy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
