So my SW was 262; my surgery weight was 243. My CW is 231. I was sleeved on 1/23. I've been stuck at 231 for 4 days now. I just started soft foods on Tuesday. What gives? I feel like 12 pounds in 2 weeks isn't enough weight loss.

Our starting stats are almost identical. I was sleeved 1/7/15. My SW was 263, day of surgery was 248, CW is 225. That 225 just happened this morning after being stalled out at 227 for about 4 days. The stalls are aggravating but I've read a lot of people on here say they happen to just about everyone. Hang in there, at least we're on the losers bench! :)

Get used to the stalls, there maybe several more ahead. Sorry about the tough love. BTW, you are doing great with your current rate of losing. I've averaged 10lbs a month from the very beginning. October, I lost zero pounds.

Congratulations! You may be a little early, but you have reached The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. It's perfectly normal, and just about all of us have suffered through it. You're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or even longer. But don't worry – after that, the weight will start falling off if you stick to your program. And, the inches will continue to come off even while the scale isn't budging. Here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight again!

(Apologies to BP regulars who have seen this repeatedly, but it's a big deal to those who are going through it!)

Thank you for the post and article. This was very helpful as I have also been in a stall. I am 3 weeks 1 day out, but have not moved since week 2.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
