graceday32001 6 Posted February 5, 2015 Hey All, I have been on the liquid diet for less than 2 weeks and have stuck to it pretty religiously...so far I have lost 20 pounds from that alone. It’s so strange. I have never dropped weight this quickly...ever 0_0 Anyways, my surgery is on the 10th of Feb and I am starting to get nervous. I'm not sure if anyone else is feeling what I am. Is it normal to start feeling a bit apprehensive about the surgery before it happens? Everyone seems to be so excited...while I am quite excited I just have that feeling of unease...is this normal? Any Input would be awesome
jpg1110 23 Posted February 5, 2015 I was very nervous! It's a big change, and I just wanted it to be over with. It's normal, and you will be on the sleeved side before you know it!
laurenella82 625 Posted February 5, 2015 I am also scheduled for 10 Feb. I am the first surgery of the day too. I am not as nervous as I thought I would be. I'm more nervous about life after the surgery than I am about the actual procedure. I did have a moment where I thought that maybe I could do this on my own since I have lost 20 pounds in the 3 weeks I've been on the pre-op diet. Then my dad brought home my favorite chips and that thought quickly exited my mind! lol! But it's surgery and surgery can be nerve wrecking. But I believe the reward will be much greater than the risk. I don't know if you are a praying woman but if you are, Give it to God and rest easy, if you aren't, do whatever you normally would do when you need to calm your nerves. You will be so grateful you did this!! God Bless and see you on the losers bench!!
Jazmundo 58 Posted February 5, 2015 Very normal! It will come fast so be prepared. Everyone has different experiences. I wasn't nervous until I was being wheeled back. You can do this!
suitechicguy 105 Posted February 5, 2015 It is definately normal. The past couple of days have been emotionally up and down for me after the surgery just because of how my body was feeling. I had to get in my head that I just had surgery and its a process not a overnight thing. Theres always going to be some back and forth I think as we all go through the journey. GeminiSleever 43 Posted February 5, 2015 Congrats on your pre-op success. I'm scheduled for February 9th and I'm both excited and anxious. This will be the first surgery I've ever had and my first ever stay in a hospital. I can't wait to start seeing results, though. Good luck to all!
eagersleever15 28 Posted February 5, 2015 I am one week post op. I was nervous until they put me under. At one week post op, I feel great, have had no problems ( not what I expected at all). I am able to get my fluids in as well as about 50 Protein. I couldn't be happier! My biggest concern is that I don't feel any restriction yet and I still feel hungry a lot which I thought that hunger would be gone. Getting a bit tired of liquids (4th week) but know it's only a matter of time. Good luck to you!

bruni 38 Posted February 8, 2015 I am 2/10 as well and had a good cry today freaking out...I'm notoriously bad with change of any kind I know the pros far out weigh the cons, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous/anxious/excited/scared

marbelvsg 132 Posted February 8, 2015 I cried all day today. The realization of what I am about to do is really kicking in. I also went to Mass and asked the priest to bless me, so I feel a bit better now.
