11 oz? I'm two weeks post op today, and I'm not having a problem at all getting my liquids in at all. And I'm noticing that I'm finishing my Premier Protein shake pretty quickly. I'm doing it in less than an hr and a half (maybe even closer to an hour). Ill discuss with my doc tomo, just wanna make sure I'm not doing any damage to my new tummy!

I can drink a Protein Shake in less than an hour and am having no trouble getting my liquids in every day. I am 6 days post op and really have no complaints! I really don't feel any restriction yet. I am walking about 2 miles a day. I have absolutely no regrets!

I'm not having any problems drinking anything! People are so different. Yesterday, my 1st full day home, I drank 80oz of liquid, including 48mg of Protein powder. I'm definitely gonna get that much in today...probably more! My doc told me to drink as much as I can tolerate because liquids won't stretch the stomach. Thank God for that. Good luck to you!

I did have problems getting liquids down in the hospital...and walking! All I wanted to do was sleep!!! The nurses were bugging the crap out of me. I told them that I would do better at home...and I did!!

I had one nurse too that drove me crazy, but luckily she was only working one night. (I had a three night stay)

I'm a week out and it's getting better every day. First couple of days I had no desire to drink at all. Thank goodness for IVs! I'm not dehydrated but I know that I am not reaching the amount of ounces my dr recommends. One day at a time and just keep on sipping.

I refused the pain meds post op. Didn't want the nausea that it caused when I had my band surgery. Now with the revision - it's much easier getting my liquids in and the pain is bearable.

That wave of nausea with the pain meds was awful.

I'm almost 5 months post OP. I have to drink really slow. Otherwise it causes gas and hurts.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
