VDB 800 Posted August 7, 2015 My new goal for the spring is to climb the mountain right across the valley from my rural Colorado home. I am going to try to post a photo of it, Mt. Lamborn, just to the right of my yellow lab's ear in this photo
B-52 7,113 Posted August 7, 2015 Leaving today for vacation....I am signed up to hike/climb a dormant volcano....description stated it is not for the weak, it is not a pleasure/nature walk, you will get banged up and bruised. Also muddy and slippery because the first half is through a rain Forrest, and it's August in the tropics so very hot. I am 63 years old, history of heart attack.....BRING IT!!!!! BTW, I now do yard work shirtless...would never dream of it a few years ago.
cube68 70 Posted August 8, 2015 Got a new job, couldn't break away from preconceived notions of who 'fat Dave' used to be. Heading down to Florida for 5 weeks of training. Gonna run on the beach every day before and after work!
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted August 8, 2015 It's not just the big things, but also the little things. Last night at a community event I walked and stood for two hours without sitting down even once. And didn't realize what I'd done until hours later. Just incredible!

geronimo 52 Posted August 10, 2015 Great thread! Thinking about what can be done when thinner helps to get the mind off any lingering second thoughts. For me, in no particular order: - Being able to wear size L form fitting shirts again, especially t-shirts - Being able to tuck my shirt in, but even more, actually being able to buy stylish clothes and have different outfits (instead of finding the one shirt that somehow is large enough to fit me and then buying multiple copies of the same shirt in different colors) - Being able to wear a suit and not need suspenders to hold my pants up - Sitting in any seat and not bumping elbows and arms with the people flanking me, or not having my butt squeezed together by extremely small seats - Skydiving - Helicopter flying lessons - Learn how to snowboard

maggie409 765 Posted August 23, 2015 Several years ago I took a trip to Colorado and pulled into a roadside area that had a hiking trail to table rock lake. I barely made it to the trail itself. I couldn't even consider going to the lake. I intend to go back when I'm able and walk that trail and see that lake.
