What I am really looking forward to is not having to wear suspenders. Also I want to be able to do a pull up again. I haven't done one since I was seventeen.

Well, just got back from a great week of skiing in Breckenridge CO. Haven't been skiing in over 10 years. My sleeve has given me a new life with no limits. :D

Here's my before and after only one short year later......

Just got invited for a guys weekend where one of the big activities is zip lining. I'm going to go. I've got 6 months to get to the weight limit and I booked it. I WILL MAKE THE WEIGHT. I know I can. I will succeed and do something I never dreamed I could.

Awesome! Sounds like a great goal to conquer.

So I just realized I posted in the guys group- I'm sorry! It came up as a recent topic the other day and I didn't see this was for the men only. Apologies dudes!

Oh crap, I didn't realize this was the men's room. Sorry guys!
Oh, this is men only? That explains a lot! LOL

Another 50 pounds and I will be able to safely ride my bicycle... can't wait, for 20 years it was my primary source of exercise.... The day I get on a plane and do not need a seat belt extension will be a good day...

I do tell myself that I am now 64 years old, and that muscular trim 22 year old is no longer there --- but a trim 65 year old awaits!

I have some health concerns, and I need to be there for my children

But I'm not gonna lie...

One of my main reasons for having 2/3 of my stomach removed is sex.....

Lots and lots of sex.......

My wife is 14 years younger than me, and she's a freak (one of the reasons I married her).

I wanted this surgery to change my life and help me do the things I wanted to do, but were too difficult, like sailing and kayaking with my kids.

6 months and 92 lbs later and now I'm doing it.

@@Recycled - I know the feeling you had at Breckenridge. Last week I kept my promise to my buddies that we would attack a 14K mountain next time we were in CO. That was impossible before surgery, but got it done

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
