Eli Alexander 316 Posted February 4, 2015 Once those pounds drop off and the muscle go on, a whole bunch of activities are going to open up to us. So how are you going to put your weightloss to use? I'm going to learn to scuba dive. Always wanted to, and now I'm going to make that happen. I have some friends who go hunting every year, deep into the northwest wood. I've never hunted before but I'm going to join then next winter. (Imagine how long the venison will last me now that I'm sleeved). Better sex. Give it my all like I did 20 years ago, when I didn't have limitations. What are you planning for?
Stevehud 1,790 Posted February 4, 2015 The sex thing is already q huge difference for me and the wife. Honestly im looking forward to walking, jus plain old being able to walk, and be able to walk around places like disney, or go away and see places. maybe europe. those are the things i really want to do. to be able to fly without people seeing me walk on a plane and thinking oh god dont let him sit near me, or have to ask for the seatbelt extender or buy two seats. that and i want to run a 5 or 10k
fortheloveofme 7 Posted February 4, 2015 I am in the early stages Pre op, but I love thinking about this because I find it really motivating! To start I would settle for bending over without having my chest in my throat, and crossing my legs..... I have a very physically demanding job and I would love to just not have every joint in my body ache at the end of the day... so many other things... I honestly want to make a list and put it on my mirror to remind myself of the ultimate goal. Being so new to the process I feel like its easy to give in and say it will never happen, but I can make it happen if I truly put my intention there! anyway, hope you all have a good day! imsoglad56 402 Posted February 4, 2015 Is it bad that my inner 12 year old boy is doing a Beavis and Butthead impersonation? Heh heh, Steve said the sex thing is huge. But in all seriousness, I'm looking forward to joining friends when they do things that I always skipped in the past like hiking, doing the Color Run when it comes to town, going on group trips to places like the outlet malls, etc. I also want to try some new stuff like ziplining. I visited my sister last Halloween and the flight was miserable, partially because I didn't fit, but mostly because I felt embarrassed and offensive to people. Walking down that isle and seeing everyone let out a sigh of relief when I didn't sit next to them. I came home early November and although I was already in the process of getting things together to have the surgery, at that point I went full force and started dieting to the best of my ability. Between that time and January 20th when I had my sleeve I lost 27lbs. I am excited to be a skinny passenger one day and just complain about the terrible food and rude flight attendants like normal people.
AvaFern 3,516 Posted February 4, 2015 I looked forward to things like being able to learn to windsurf without the teacher laughing at me, being able to go horeseback riding without breaking the horse, and being able to run again without my feet swelling up like balloons. Now that I am close to goal weight, there are other things that I recognize. I can sit in my car without the steering wheel rubbing against my legs, I can sit at any table and no matter how hipster the chairs are, my butt always fits in them, and I can go out in public without ever wondering if the people I hear snickering behind me are laughing at me. I can look through the juniors section and fit into the smaller sizes, whereas before I was stuck shopping in the women's section. I can be reasonably sure that my fat days are not actually days where everyone else also thinks I look fat. I feel like I can live like a normal person without always wondering who is laughing at me for having the nerve to do something other than hide in my house or be on a treadmill. I suppose then all of the things that I looked forward to doing and all of the things I still recognize as being happy about being able to do again all add up to the fact that I get to finally live a life that makes me happy. Recycled 2,182 Posted February 4, 2015 This weight loss thing can certainly get expensive...... Since my surgery, I have worked extremely hard to get in shape as I lost the weight and now that I have reached my goal weight.......... I setup an upcoming vacation in March to go snow skiing at Breckenridge CO. The thing is......all my ski stuff was so old from years ago, I had to upgrade to all new stuff. Wow.......the costs of everything has gone thru the roof. But now with all new gear and sharp new ski clothes, I'm anxious to hit the slopes again.

CJSLEEVE 25 Posted February 4, 2015 Pull-ups... There was a brief window of time in my early twenties when I could do pull-ups and I'd like to get back to that again. I'd also like to be able to get into and out of a canoe without every pair of eyes on the beach staring at me to see if I'll sink it...
cube68 70 Posted February 4, 2015 My daughter signed up for Girls On The Run, a program for 3rd and 4th grade girls, they will meet twice a week after school and learn to run, guess who signed up to be her running buddy for the 5K they will run at the end of the school year, this guy! My first 5K at 47, her first one at 9... lol. Also, we have pre-registered for a color run in July. The big challenge comes in the summer of 2016, when I am going to run my first Tough Mudder! JeffA70 200 Posted February 5, 2015 I'm loving these responses. It's a whole new world for the taking. It truly is, brother. My big things were to take up running. Did my first 5K 10 months after my operation. Last year, I did a 365-miles-in-365-days challenge and nailed it, and among those miles were three timed runs. Exercise has become therapy. The best, though, was doing one of those mud obstacle runs. Didn't skip any obstacle and ran the whole thing (OK, plodded along at the end ). I was at the top of one of the big rope-ladder obstacles and realized that I literally wouldn't have been able to do this at 362. It was a great moment. Rock it, dudes. ajcarl 18 Posted February 5, 2015 you are so right about flying! I would love to be able to go on a plane without squishing the others in my row. AND to NOT have to ask for a seat belt extender would be great. And I have already found that soon I'll be able to buy clothes without having to go the BIG & tall store...but I'll still be tall. Nice to see my weiner too! it is growing back as I lose. That is a plus. I lost weight awhile back, was able to run with my kids when they were young. I missed out on a lot of that but I want to be able to run again...coming soon.
Eli Alexander 316 Posted February 5, 2015 I know, it's amazing that you lose weight everywhere but the cock, which gains size.
