When should I start exercising post surgery? I'm 3 months since the sleeve, but I still feel without any strength or energy. I just don't want to hurt myself

I was told by my team that walking as much as you can even if it's 10 min 3 times a day and full exercise of course to your comfort zone by the 3rd month. Ask your team see what they say

I'd ask your doctor. I was cleared for exercise at 2 weeks post op, with walking as tolerated before that. Perhaps a review of what you're able to eat would be helpful also, as that may be related to your lack of energy. Good luck!

Definitely check with your doc, but you should be good to go by now.

I was walking since day one and back in the gym, on the treadmill about 9 days out. I would definitely talk with your bariatric team to see why your energy feels so low. I remember being amazed at my energy levels and still am to this day. :)

I was told to do 60-90 minutes of walking per day immediately post-op and begin more intense cardio and strength training at 2 months post-op.

I was gonna ask the same question. How soon can we start exercising? And does it have to be only treadmill and walks? Or can we use an elliptical trainer? I loooovvvvveee the elliptical trainer a billion times over treadmill.... I love the hop! ????

And I love swimming... But will surely wait for the incisions to heal.

My surgery will be most likely end of February, surgeon hasn't given me a date as yet.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
