Thanks. It's good to know that I am with you. I am second guessing myself on this. There are so many versions of this...seems like every doctor has their own take on the pre-op diet. Thanks for chiming in. :)

Day one of my pre-op diet. It wasn't so bad. Were you all looking at your daily calories while you were on the pre-op? I was at almost 700 calories today. That seems high to me..

Jill I am on my last day of the pre-op diet. I have been averaging between 640 to 800 cals on any given day. I am down a little over 20lbs. MyFirnessPal flips out on me with what my intake is 1200, BUT that is for a normal 2lbs a week type plan.

Well, last day of having my rabbit food..hehe. Tomorrow I begin a week of all shakes and pureed fruits. Im down a total of 14 lbs in just 6 days and feel pretty flipping good. Ive consumed more avacado, potatoes, carrots, brussel spouts and asparagus than i have in the last 15 years. My body is clearly recognizing this as I am craving more and getting hungry faster. The Protein Shakes with PB2 is helping along. Tomorrow begins a new phase in this endeavor...the body will be freaking out for sure. Ah, yes, let the head games begin!!

Just an opinion here but it sounds to me like you lack self confidence. I think most here would tell you the same story. A story about how they've lost and regained and lost and regained. That is why we're doing this, right? You have to decide that the BS stops now....and grab the reigns. We are at war with own bodies. It helps if you have a supporter...someone to confide in push you when you need it. The fact that you are doing this means you recognize that you need this tool in order to be successful. Just follow the plan and exercise. The weight will come off and you'll be eating in moderation. WE got this!!

@@chaggard, so glad to hear you are ready...just playing devils advocate. I'm right there with you. I feel the pressure to succeed too. I think we all are putting a lot of hope into our surgeries. It's sounds like you are in the right frame of mind. You are working hard to make new habits. I think we will all have bad days but always remember, we are all here for each other. Best wishes and keep talking...let us know how you are doing!

I got on the scale this morning and am down 2 pounds from yesterday. I still think I'm retaining fluids because my wedding ring is tight and it had been really loose a week ago. I think I'm still being haunted by that cheeseburger fiasco from last weekend. It's that or that unjury chicken broth has too much sodium for me.

I am in good spirits though. Every day that I get closer to this surgery, I get a little more excited. I ran out of my liquid B-12. Anyone do the dissolvable dots? I guess B-12 is B-12.

Stacy was right about developing new habits. Now, without thinking the first thing I do in the morning is mix my shake, grab my Vitamins, Water and coffee. I have to work on the exercise though. I know it's because of my feet hurting but they don't hurt as much as they did in January!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
