March 9th as well!

I've been on the pre-op diet for a few days. Messed up the first couple dinners!

Better these last couple days. It's been tough. It's mostly tough when my husband is eating dinner and I'm eating my small, healthy dinner.

Are you exercising? Sometimes that will make you gain weight too. You could not be eating enough...you know how that works, you body will go into starvation mode. I can totally understand what you are going through...it can be so frustrating. My fingers are crossed that the scale will move for you...in the right direction! :(

This is day 8 on pre-op. I'm doing 2-3 protien shakes per day and cabbage or brussel sprouts occasionally. I need to lose another 6lbs by next thursday and I'm freaking out!! I woke up this morning and the scale said I GAINED a lb!! How does that even happen?!? Anyone have any advice?? I have to be under a certain BMI to avoid having to pay an extra fee. 6lbs in 7 days.....someone help!

I'm right there with you on this...super hard to watch someone eat something you love. I sometimes have to leave the room because it's just to much for me. I'm such a wimp!

March 16th! :D has anyone heard of successful ways to minimize loose skin throughout the weight loss? I know I'll have some under my arms and my belly. I'm also concerned to loose the little booty I have and get sagging boobs. /: any tips?

Found out last Thursday that my surgery I was aiming for to be done in June due to homeschooling is now going to be March 18th :-) I am thankful I have great support ready to help me so I can go through with this. I turned 33 on February 2nd and have had many health issues so I am excited for this new chapter in my life. Anyone else close to the 18th? I am from upstate ny.

I'm am! To be truthful, the pre-op liquid diet makes me nervous but hey, once day at a time, right? :)

March 3rd here, struggling with this pre op diet. I've cheated way too much. Never consumed more than 1,000 calories a day, but afraid that this weakness will cause catastrophe for my mind after surgery. Anyone else?

I'm actually on a preop diet for almost a month now. Not feeling that great today. I've been doing two shakes and then a small meal so I don't think that the liquid diet is going to be that difficult for me. At this point I have absolutely no hunger at all and that worries me a little bit. I don't think you're going to have any problem if you put your mind to it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
