Ok so I am doing very well and entering week 2. During weeks 2, 3, and 4, I am supposed to to puree all of my foods. So is that basically just throwing the food in a blender and griding up as much as possible? Kind of like "pre-chewing" your food? LOL

I decided to go vegetarian so it should be pretty easy to puree all my foods. It will mostly be legumes and the such.

I remember being so excited when I got to move to this stage. I made the mistake of pureeing tuna, chicken and eggs (separately of course). I now cannot eat eggs at all! The taste and smell make my stomach turn, it makes me very sad because i used to love eggs.

I am good with chicken and tuna however I never want to eat them pureed again. One time was enough for me and I was done.

I really ended up living on Protein shakes, yogurt (i ate a lot of yogurt), Cream of mushroom Soup, chicken broth and cottage cheese. I love cottage cheese however I could not eat it pureed, I ate small curd and basically pureed it by chewing the heck out of it. I also made fresh cooked carrots and mashed them with a fork. That worked very well and I love carrots even more now.

Good luck on the next phase of your diet. The time goes quickly and then you will be on soft foods.

Yes, just throw it in and blend it all up.

Just reading the title of your post made me sick to my stomach though! LOL! I had to be on pureed stage for SO long! I wasn't tolerating meat pureed, so even had to go back to mushies for a while.

I am so thankful to be past that stage, but I do remember how exciting it was to get to the pureed stage! So enjoy!! :D

Reading all the threads and posts about eating during the puree stage makes me so happy that my surgeon's post-op diet plan did not include a pureed stage! I went from Clear Liquids week 1 to eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, shredded cheese and refried Beans in week 2. Week 3, I started chicken, turkey and fish, taking small bites and chewing thoroughly.

Just wanted to say good luck on your journey. I have checked out the blog The World according to eggface, and there was a lot of good ideas there for all stages.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
