@@VSGAnn2014, When I started out, I could not conceive of a BMI under 22, either. Never say never! Follow your program and let your body do its thing. You might be surprised where you end up.

I'm coming up right behind you, at 61.

Geez, what does that feel like ... to be so slim after being so heavy?

Also, how tall are you?

Not really. I count Protein grams (at least 75g per day) and counted calories (roughly) during my losing phase when I was told I wasn't getting enough food. I shot for 1000-1200 per day and just tried to balance the rest between fat and carbs in MFP, but never really paid much attention to anything besides Protein.

I track everything on MyFitnessPal and I focus on getting 60+ grams of Protein. Right after surgery, I tried to keep my carb intake very low (<50), but the dietitian told me I need at least 125-150 grams of carbs for proper brain function etc. I have my 1000 calorie MyFitnessPal set at 50% carbs (125 grams), 25% protein (63 grams) and 25% fat (28 grams).

We are on similar pages. NUT has my carbs set at 40-45% and those should be from plant-based whole foods like veggies and fruits...which helps with net carbs because of Fiber.

I am at a semi-stall & panicked because I thought it was the carbs but I lift weights and notice my clothes are still getting looser. So it seems to be still working out.

I will be at 7 months on Valentine's and am down a total of 80lbs.

I am 7 weeks out and only allowed 25 grams of carbs. It is really difficult to stay that low. Vitamin Water zero for example has 4-5 carbs. A half a banana has 16 carbs so I usually get between 30-35.

Thanks to this post I am losing more now. My surgeon nor nutritionist told me how many carbs to stay under. I think I was eating too many.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
