Recommended Posts

I'm 10 days post-op I was doing really good until today... I went on friday to my nutrition appt. I was doing very good with the liquid diet when I went on friday to the nutritionist she told to move on too a full liquid diet I was so exciting to be able to try new things after being 1 1/2 in just liquid so I did ... I was ok until today early in the morning after trying the Protein Shake I was fine then I ate a Soup OMG I thought I was going to die..... really bad ... bad .... stomach pain and very nausea and wanted to throw up until I did uhhg.... worst .. I called my doctor and he told me that he doesn't understand why they would give me the nutritionist appt.first that it was to soon for her to start me off with the full liquid diet and because of that my stomach swelled inside and now on liquid diet again and still with pain...????

For me I am not able to drink a Protein Shake and Soup together. I chose one or the other. I think you may have had too much at once. I am nine weeks post op and I can finally drink a whole Protein shake (premier protein which is 11 ounces) in an hour. At first I was lucky if I could consume 1/4 of it. Go slow and really listen to your pouch. Trust me when I say my grouch pouch tells me when to stop. I don't dare take another bit. Good luck and you will do great! ????

It has happened to me enough that I know not to take "one extra bite." But tonight I did it again. I suffered for half an hour when the foamies happened and then it was over. Now I will drink Peppermint tea. one extra bite just doesn't work for me. It really takes about 12 hours for my pouch to relax again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
