M.R. 4 Posted February 8, 2015 My biggest advice would be to get pre op counseling to deal with the reasons why you eat. Surgery won't be a miracle cure and will fail in the long run if you don't find out why you overeat and develop tools to deal with those feelings. This is not meant to discourage you, rather to help you put all the tools in place now to ensure you have long term success. I just reached my goal (down 140lbs since last Feb.), but I still find myself reaching for foods I shouldn't eat, eating too fast, etc. The difference is now I am able to stop myself and think about what I am feeling that is causing me to reach for food. Remember this is a lifestyle change, not just a way to lose weight. Congratulations and best of luck; it's a long road, but one that is well worth it!
