Mystery Question that is Plaguing Me!? Grocery Haul Videos

Recommended Posts

I know someone out there must know the answer to this question about life, the universe, and everything!

Why are "grocery hauls" so popular on Youtube????? Please... someone answer this.

I just don't "get it". Why would anyone want to know what I'm buying at Costco/Walmart/Sams Club/Amazon??????

Why would you want a video tour of my refrigerator????

Or is knowing the answer to this question one of those, "if I told you, we'd have to kill you!" type answers? :P

I just want to know why so many people like watching videos of other people showing and talking about their latest food purchases?

What does that mean?

I buy Gouda, margarita lime shrimp, oranges, skinny pop, chicken, Kirkland tortilla Soup and Kirkland coffee (it's starbucks) at costco. Pretty dull...

Or "checking in" everywhere they go. ??? Hey creepers!! Follow me around!! I don't get it. One of my best friends checked in to a Panera restaurant and tagged me too. Wth? You want stalkers, fine, but leave me out of it! Maybe I'm a little sensitive cause my NSETBEx is a creeper. But sheesh.

I am one of those people who posts what they are having for dinner to Facebook (occasionally) but mostly because I have a ton of sleever friends on there and we like to get ideas from each other. I know no one else cares that I had tuna casserole last Wednesday! lol

'Hauls" in general are popular Youtube vids. I'm in a few fashion & makeup groups and you'll see shopping hails and makeup hauls. ::Shrug:: Not my thing, but I'm not really phased by it.

I will on occasion post a picture of my dinner but usually only when I've made something really good that also photographs well. (cause sometimes good food looks like vomit or dogfood when photographed).

Life is too short to watch videos of grocery shopping. Every once in a while I do post photos of food to my small sleever group and health conscious group but that is simply to share a recipe with pix.

youtube is an amazing resource, but...

I've never heard of these videos! They sound a bit odd. THough I have to admit to being one of those people who "checks in" on FB quite a bit. I'm not worried about stalkers because the only people who see these are my FB friends, not the general public. Why do I do it? For my own benefit, not for anyone else. I have always kept track of where I go and what I do--I have calendars back to the 80s that have all this info on them! lol. Yes, it's a weird obsession and I can't seem to stop! And I have discovered now that my mother has always done this, too.

Do you tag your friends when you check in?

No, I don't tag my friends when I check in. If I were to do that, I would probably only tag the ones who also do the check-in's. I have some friends who would not want me to tag them and I respect that. But, I usually don't tag anyone.

I found this topic to be hilarious!! I HATE grocery shopping!! In fact I don't do it!

Maybe if it was a "professional" shopper who went out and video'd their haul as a marketing tool but why do that for no reason?

We already know that Americans spend too much money on stuff do we need video evidence of that now too:) Sorry it's just like the couponing hoarders that buy vats of soap and toilet paper and every thing that's on sale or has a coupon. Are they feeding or taking care of a hungry nation with all that stuff?

If you are so bored why not go back to school and learn something useful if nothing else I'm 100% sure there are ditches that need filling and roads that could use some work. Come on people...get out there and live life food shopping is a necessary evil like taking a poop I don't need to see it or hear about it..but you know that will be next!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
