I am managing Water but not nearly the amount I should..anyone ny advice on what I should be doing, and again is this normal?

Yes it is normal. Your esophagus and tummy is swollen. Just keep sipping Water, liquids. Hydration is most important right now.

I was sleeved the same day and I'm also not hungry or thirsty. I just keep sipping stuff when I'm not sleeping. :-)

It's going to be a struggle to get your fluids in the first few days, but you really want to try - dehydration can put you back in the hospital as easily as a leak. Diarrhea is perfectly normal, too

I was sleeved the same day. First day and a half had nothing but sips of Water. Today I have been sipping water and Gatorade. I also had 2 ounces of Soup and one pure Protein Shake (took 8 hours to drink it one sip at a time). Sadly, I have felt hunger. I was hoping that I would not feel hunger anymore. I do not yet know what full feels like. I have done a fair amount of walking today and really feel pretty good.

@@eagersleever15 Do not be discouraged about feeling hunger. It sounds like you are getting very few calories in at all. I have found that I will still feel hunger when my calorie count is very low. Even so, it is nothing like I experienced before surgery and most importantly it takes so much less food to feel full and satisfied. Keep sipping the shakes. You will get there. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
